Groom & Bride

Our Story

Hey, want to hear the story of how we met and ended up getting married? It all started with a random encounter that turned into something pretty special.

  • First We Meet

    July 3, 2017

On our first day at work, surrounded by a room full of new faces, she took the seat in front of mine and simply said, "Hi!" Little did we know, that casual greeting would kickstart a journey beyond the confines of that training room, shaping the story of us.

  • The Start of It

    October 4, 2017

Amidst the festive hum of office birthday celebrations, I found myself in my usual corner, observing the merriment from a distance. To my surprise, she approached with a bright smile and a simple request: "Wish me!" As our acquaintance took a sweet turn with a slice of birthday cake, little did I realize that this seemingly ordinary moment would mark the sweet beginning of our extraordinary journey together. ❤️

  • First Date

    December 25, 2017

Alright, picture this: early morning, random plan to hit up Bangla Sahib with work buddies. We started as a group of five, but by 5:30 am, it was just us two left standing. No biggie, we rolled with the punches, braved the cold, and ended up in a nearby church. And just like that, our not-so-planned first date became a cool memory.

  • Devil's Circuit

    March 17, 2018

So, there we were, tackling Devil's Circuit – a military obstacle course I'd never think of doing, if not for her encouragement. Navigating obstacles together, we faced challenges head-on, helping each other out along the way. Little did we know, it was a sneak peek into the teamwork that would define our journey.

  • Chopta Trek (By the Groom)

    March 29, 2018

Shivam: Enter the Chopta trek – something everyone who knows me swore I'd never attempt. Yet, when she asked, my automatic response was a hesitant yes. As we started the trek, she exuded eagerness, while my primary goal was just to survive this unexpected adventure successfully. The Expedia friends group was there, all working together, but my attention was singularly focused on her. Throughout the journey to the top, we found ourselves naturally helping each other. Little did we know, and only much later did we realize, those shared moments became the tipping point for her to understand my not-so-obvious crush.

  • Chopta Trek (By the Bride)

    March 29, 2018

The office guy who usually keeps a low profile surprised us all during the trek. He not only took responsibility for the entire group but also went above and beyond, looking out for me and everyone else. It was a refreshing discovery of his responsible side, and I couldn't help but be impressed.

  • After Chopta Trek

    March 2018 - August 2019

During a rough patch at Expedia, he became my pillar of support, going beyond guidance to instill happiness. Every day going to the office became something to look forward to, cherishing the time spent with him. In his presence, I felt genuinely special.

  • He Proposed!

    May 12, 2018

Our first date at Hauz Khas led us to different restaurants until we settled on a charming French bakery. The walk in the park was a mix of awkwardness and laughter. When it was time to say goodbye, right there at the exit, by the roadside and in front of a temple, I decided to take a leap. On one knee, I asked her to be my girlfriend, turning a simple moment into a special memory we both cherish.

  • Journey since then

    To Present

For over 5 years, through the highs and lows, back-and-forths, we've embraced love and weathered challenges to reach this significant milestone. Transitioning from friends to partners and finally being married, the journey has been a mix of great and not-so-great moments, making it all the more meaningful and sensible. Our lives took a fortuitous turn in a conference room, and that fateful encounter changed our paths for the better forever.

  • She Proposed!!

    Feb 09, 2024

    Proposal Day 2024

What a roller coaster of emotions that day was! I had planned to commemorate this "proposal day" in a spectacular fashion, but unfortunately our plans were thrown awry due to unforeseen circumstances. Little did she know of my reason for wanting to go out on that day, I wanted to recreate my initial proposal to her at Hauz Khaz and this wrench in our plans left me feeling a bit down. But then, at 8 pm, she showed up at my door with a slight smile and a mysterious instruction: "Come with me." Curious, I followed her into an Uber, our destination a one-hour journey away. As we traveled, I couldn't help but feel giddy at the thought that she might have planned something similar to what I had in mind. And lo and behold, we arrived at Hauz Khas, the very same restaurant I had booked for us earlier, now with a 9 pm reservation. A crisp cold wind greeted us as we crossed the road to "Mia Bella," where a candlelit rose setup awaited us. She had requested something like this, but the extent of it took me by surprise. Unfortunately, it turned out to be for another couple, but she was ready. She pulled out rose petals from her bag, adorned our table, and placed a chocolate truffle cake in front of me, with "S <3 S" written on it. Holding a Golden rose, she proposed to me, and of course, I said yes without hesitation. But the magic didn't stop there. The group behind us noticed the decoration and our proposal. They generously offered us their table, which we had eyed when we first arrived. It felt like our wish had been granted. With a breathtaking lake view, balloons, and roses all around us, we sat facing each other, hearts full of love and gratitude for this unexpected turn of events. And just like that, Universal Proposal Day worked its magic, adding another unforgettable chapter to our already special day. It's a story we'll cherish forever. A special mention for the group that offered the table: Madhav, Dhiraj & Laveena
